Grantor Trust

A type of trust in which the person who created the trust (the grantor) retains certain powers or benefits, causing the trust’s income and assets to be taxed to the grantor rather than to the trust. Grantor trusts are often used in estate planning to transfer assets while retaining some level of control. See Trustee
