Checking Account

A bank or credit union account designed for daily money management. You can make deposits anytime, in any amount. These accounts give you checks that you give to others to pay for goods and services, reducing the need for you to carry cash – although checking accounts are being increasingly supplanted by digital payment options, such as debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle and crypto. Checking accounts often require that you maintain a minimum balance, and they generally pay little to no interest. See Credit Unions
