Durable Power of Attorney

A legal document that authorizes a person you choose, known as your agent or attorney in fact, to manage your financial and/or legal affairs on your behalf. The word “durable” means the document remains in effect even if you become incapacitated; by comparison, a standard power of attorney is void upon incapacity. See Health Care Power of Attorney
