Long-term securities issued by the federal government to finance its operations. T‑Bonds of maturity dates of 20 or 30 years, paying an interest at a fixed rate every six months until maturity. T‑Bonds are considered among the safest investment in the world because they are guaranteed by the “full faith and credit” of U.S. government, which has never defaulted on an interest payment or failed to return principal upon maturity.
