Tax Refunds

The amount returned to a taxpayer by the U.S. Treasury or state tax authority when the taxes withheld or paid during the year exceed the amount owed. Getting a refund means you overpaid your taxes during the year and are receiving your own money back – without interest. See Federal Income Tax, Income Tax, Internal Revenue Service
